I love to receive book recommendations from friends and acquaintances. It's unlikely that I will go immediately and get the book recommended (though that has happened!), but at the least I like to make a mental note of the title and author if only for interest's sake. Years ago a friend told me that he found the best way to get to know another person was to find out what that person felt most passionately about. I agree. So today I was more than pleased to come across a web page that lists the books (usually no more than three) that prominent Christians have listed as having especially influenced them. I find it immensely stimulating and pleasurable to browse such lists.
While on the subject of books, I might mention that Chuck Colson offers his own suggestions for summer reading, plus he has published a Breakpoint recommended booklist as well. Embedded in that last is a link to the Wilberforce Forum Centurion required book list (for those enrolled in serious worldview training). That, too, was very interesting to me.
