If this Christian Science Monitor article is accurate, and I think it is, then we have once again been given a pile of hog dung by the media. Jonah Goldberg over at the Corner opens his abridgement of the article saying:
If even partially true, this strikes me as pretty devastating and, sadly, entirely believable. By now, I should stop being surprised when the press gets caught up in groupthink like this. Alas, this will go down the memory hole, along with Matthew Shepherd, whales caught in the ice, the "massacre" at Haditha and so many others.
[Me] Groupthink, indeed. Goldberg's examples of previous groupthink, with all their falsity, need to be constantly kept in mind. In the case of the Jena 6, it seems like the press got it all wrong. Click here.
