I know the title of this post sounds inflammatory, but it's the sober truth. Read David Freddoso's summary of Barack Obama's votes and speeches in both the Illinois legislature and the Senate. Obama is a determined, even "wild-eyed," abortion (including infanticide) fanatic.
Freddoso also notes the following:
Update - Ramesh Ponnuru - "More Misrepresentations of Obama's abortion record, courtesy of Obama's campaign."
Update 8/17/08 - David Freddoso unspins the lies and lays bear the truth.
Update 8/18/08 - National Right to Life weighs in on Obama's attempted cover-up of his opposition to the Born-alive bill. Click here. Yuval Levin responds to the NY Times' attempt to cover for Obama.
Update 8/20/08 - Peter Wehner explains that Dems have reason to worry.
Most find Obama's votes so unbelievably callous and evil that they
refuse to believe he could have cast them. Yet the facts are
indisputable.
Update 8/24/08 - I just came across Pat Buchanan's article, A Catholic Case Against Barack. It is very powerful and accurate.
Douglas Groothuis writes:
Obama: Abortion Absolutist
Pat Buchanan is dead-on in his editorial, "The Catholic Case Against Obama." Every point he makes should be endorsed by Evangelical Protestants as well. Consider Buchanan's chilling statement:
"In 2007, Barack pledged that, in his first act as president, he will sign the Freedom of Choice Act,
which would cancel every federal, state or local regulation or
restriction on abortion. The National Organization for Women says it
would abolish all restrictions on government funding of abortion."
My
God, consider the implications of this! All the incremental
restrictions on abortion, won state-by state, over the years since
1973, wiped out with a signature. This is an act of congress brought
forth after the ban on partial birth abortion was signed into law. Make no mistake, Obama supports partial birth abortion.
Please
read this telling editorial. If you are in any sense pro-life
(Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, or other), how can you vote for this
"abortion absolutist"?
