- (Original post) I've never had a poet's ear, nor an appropriate appreciation of poetry, so I put up this post primarily for a few friends who enjoy poetry and can evaluate poetry better than I. Horowitz has stuck his neck out with his blisteringly negative assessment of Obama's poet laureate, Elizabeth Alexander.
Her writing is tone deaf, bad prose -- let alone bad poetry -- and teeth grindingly banal.
