OBAMA USES "ROUNDTABLES" AS PROPS AND WINDOW DRESSING FOR PREDETERMINED POLICY

- Original Post - Andy McCarthy prosecuted the terrorists who plotted and conducted the first bombing attack on the World Trade Center in 1993.  He is an expert on the terrorist situation and had been invited to an Obama administration "roundtable" on counterterrorist policy, but has publicly declined to be, as he put it, a prop.  McCarthy wrote:

Whatever the good intentions of the organizers, the meeting will obviously be used by the administration to claim that its policy was arrived at in consultation with current and former government officials experienced in terrorism cases and national security issues.  I deeply disagree with this policy, which I believe is a violation of federal law and a betrayal of the president’s first obligation to protect the American people.  Under the circumstances, I think the better course is to register my dissent, rather than be used as a prop.   [more . . .]

Me:  Why do I bother to blog about this?  Because it is the way the Obama administration does business.  Obama knows exactly what he wants to do, announces it, and then produces a panel with a semblance of input that is totally phony.  But he uses it as a cover for his own agenda.  Read the rest of the link to get a clearer picture of Obama's window dressing, which, no doubt, will continue to fool a lot of people.  No one ever accused Obama of not being smooth and clever.
