I was at a surgeon's office today from 8:45 AM to 6:15 PM. The "Mohs microscopic surgery" required, in my case, going down five layers of skin to take out all the squamous cell carcinoma from a lesion near my nose. Afterwards the surgeon took cartilage from my ear, skin from my thigh, and a "flap" taken from my cheek to begin dealing with the hole in my face and reconstructing my nose. Sorry if that comes across as a bit gruesome. Maybe it would have been better had I not mentioned it.
As it is, I am grateful for the prayers of friends and look forward to a speedy recovery. I will need to visit the surgeon many times over the next weeks and months. The staff and surgeon couldn't have been more professional and pleasant. What a blessing! I am truly grateful.
I am not sure how this will effect my blogging. Hopefully very little. We'll see.
