ANNE APPLEBAUM - WE NEED A SMARTER WAY TO FIGHT THE JIHADI ELITE

Anne Applebaum writes on what she calls the "international Jihadi elite" - the well-educated committed Muslim jihadists who don't fit the stereotypical impoverished, backward, tribal Muslim.    Applebaum is beginning to get it.  The threat to Western freedom and way of life is religious and ideological and the conflict must be engaged on those grounds.  Will the West open its eyes to that reality?  Her awakening may be a hopeful sign.
