HUNDREDS OF FANS Mob George W. Bush & Billy Graham at Charlotte Bush Signing (Video)
Some fans waited in line up to two days to meet George and Laura Bush in Charlotte, South Carolina.
The Bushes and Billy Graham were mobbed at the book signing.
George Bush personally invited a 90 year-old World War II veteran to the signing.
WCNC reported:
The Reverend Billy Graham personally welcomed former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura to the Billy Graham Library on Monday, where the couple signed copies of their books.
A thousand people who had bought copies of both books and had been issued special wrist bands waited in line in the cold for hours for a chance to see Rev. Graham and the Bushes.
“It is kind of chilly out here but it is worth it,” said 90-year-old Herman Patterson.
Patterson is a Navy veteran of World War II who was surprised to get a call last week from a staff member at Mr. Bush’s office inviting him to come and meet the former President.
“He just said, ‘thank you for your service,’ and shook hands with me,” said Patterson.Billy Graham, who is now 92, did not address the crowd that lined up for the book signing, but he did share some words with Mr. Bush before leaving the room to a loud round of applause.
Graham is in a wheelchair but his son Franklin Graham said his father is doing remarkably well.
“His mind, I think, is sharper today than it was even five years ago. I don’t know what it is, he is just getting better,” Graham said of his father.
The Bushes spent close to three hours signing books. They had been invited recently by Franklin Graham to make the Billy Graham Library a stop on their book tour.
Bill Conard said that having the autographs of the former President and Mrs. Bush means a lot to him.
“These people have done a great job. Not perfect people like some of us are perfect,” he said with a smile.
In his book, Mr. Bush credits a conversation he had several years ago with Rev. Graham for turning his life around.
Franklin Graham said of that conversation, “The President made a decision for Jesus Christ when he realized he was a sinner and that Jesus Christ died for his sins and rose again and the President invited Christ to come into his heart.”

It’s Official: Obama-Pelosi Regime Moves One Step Closer to Controlling Internet – Vote Tomorrow
They just won’t stop…
The Democrats moved one step closer today in their push to control the internet.
Liberal FCC officials will vote tomorrow on sweeping new internet regulations.
The National Journal reported:
It’s official: the path has been cleared for Tuesday’s historic vote at the Federal Communications Commission approving sweeping new “network neutrality” rules designed to ensure that the Internet remains an open platform that doesn’t favor dominant telecommunications and cable companies.
Democratic FCC regulator Michael Copps just issued a statement in which he explains that he will “concur” on the proposed rules, meaning he supports their adoption but doesn’t agree with everything in them.
Senior officials have also confirmed that all three Democrats on the five-member commission will support the rules, providing FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski with the support he needed for the plan. Copps and fellow Democratic regulator Mignon Clyburn have been fighting for stronger provisions to better protect consumers and smaller competitors.
Wireless carriers have also endorsed (albeit grudgingly) the net neutrality plan, offering Genachowski critical industry support that can help dampen congressional criticism. They insist they need maximum flexibility in operating their networks due to capacity constraints, and won’t block competitors.
Critics of the proposal dismiss it as unnecessary government intervention that seeks to correct marketplace problems that do not exist.
The WSJ added: ‘Net neutrality’ sounds nice, but the Web is working fine now. The new rules will inhibit investment, deter innovation and create a billable-hours bonanza for lawyers.

A Junk Science Czar — Schwarzenegger Wants to Work in the Obama Administration Fighting Non-Existent Global Warming
And, to think, we had such great hopes for him…
Arnold wants to be the Junk Science Czar.
(LA Times Blog)
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger told reporters today that he’d like a job possibly in global warming climate change junk science within the Obama Administration.
The Ticket reported:
In an interview with editors at the Los Angeles Times, the outgoing California governor said he was in “no rush” to find a new job when his term ends next month. But asked specifically whether he’d consider a post working for President Obama, “he said yes and began to riff on his credentials,” according to the Times’ David Lauter.
Schwarzenegger, who counts legislation combating global warming as one of his signature achievements in office, suggested he might be interested in a post dealing with energy or the environment.
“I’m a big believer in environmental issues,” Schwarzenegger said, who added that he wanted a post where he could use his “celebrity power … knowledge and experience” to impact public policy. “I’ve traveled the world. … I’m very familiar with the world.”

Senator Grahamnesty: It’s Time For the Tea Party to “Help Us Solve Problems”
Who’s leading who?
Senator Lindsey Graham wants the bigots to shut up tea party patriots to “help us solve problems.”
The Hill reported:
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said that the Tea Party needs to commit to being problem-solvers in the new Congress.
On “Face the Nation,” Graham was asked about the prospects for bipartisanship come January.
“The House is in revolt,” he said of the difficulty of extending the Bush-era tax cuts. “People are pissed off in the House at the estate tax. That’s going to carry over a bit.”
Graham said that big government and spending is on the “run and retreat,” but that the coming months will test the grass-roots movement that helped turn the tide in the midterm election.
“The Tea Party will turn on the Republicans as well as the Democrats, but it’s going to be a test of the Tea Party,” he said.
“They come up here in large numbers and bring a new energy. I applaud what they did, but they’ve got to help us solve problems.”
Suddenly its the tea party’s job to solve problems? Isn’t that what Congress is supposed to be doing?
Harry Reid Files For Cloture on START Treaty – Senator Corker Folds?
It looks like Harry Reid and the democrats have the votes they need for the START Treaty with Russia. At least they are getting close. Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) appears to be the latest Republican to fold on the deal.
The Corner reported:
On Sunday night, after a weekend of wrangling, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) filed for cloture on the New START treaty, setting up a crucial Tuesday vote on whether to end debate. A final vote could come on Thursday. As Josh Rogin observes, keep an eye on Sen. Bob Corker (R., Tenn.) as the clock ticks:
A lot could change between now and then. Senate aides said that Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) was working with Democrats behind the scenes on a time agreement for the debate. As of Sunday evening, no time agreement had been struck.
The fact that it’s now Corker doing the negotiating is significant. Until recently, Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-AZ) had been the center of attention. But after nine GOP senators voted to move to debate New START last week over the objections of Kyl, the administration wrote off Kyl’s vote and decided to push forward with the Republicans that were willing to go along.
Jennifer Rubin says its not clear if democrats have the needed votes adding that the administration is far too willing to accommodate the Russians and far too hesitant to defend American interests.
