Tomorrow night I'll be joining a Bible study on Acts, chapter one. I read in v. 13 that after Jesus' ascension, the followers of Jesus gathered in an upper room. Verse 14 reads: "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren."
My mind went to the difference Christianity has made with regard to the status of women in the world and I recalled that Dr. Ben Witherington, professor of New Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary, had written books on the subject. So I did a quick internet search and came across this instructive eight-minute video.
